M30 | Messier 30 | NGC 7099
This globular cluster in Capricornus is closer to the Milky Way center than our solar system. At 93 light years across, it is one of the densest (Class V) globulars in our galaxy. It follows a retrograde orbit through the Milky Way, suggesting an extragalactic origin. Its brightest stars (red giants) are 12.1 mV, while the main stars are 15th magnitude. 93 light years diameter.
